About This Tour
Tour Highlights
What makes this tour special is the chance to experience Saigon in just 3.5 hours, combining a relaxing cyclo ride through the city's iconic landmarks with a taste of its vibrant street food culture.
Along the way, you'll discover some of Saigon's most famous sights, including the Independence Palace, Saigon Opera House, City Hall, Nguyen Hue Walking Street, the Central Post Office, and Notre-Dame Cathedral. You'll also get a glimpse of everyday local life as we pass by the city's book street, old apartment buildings, and bustling markets.
But this tour is about more than just sightseeing and food. We also hope to make a small but meaningful contribution to the local community by working with cyclo drivers, many of whom are middle-aged men who work hard to make a living. They know the city inside out, and we're happy to help them continue doing what they do best.
We believe there's no better way to experience the charm of Saigon than at a slower pace. As your cyclo driver takes you through the busy streets, you'll have time to take in the sights, observe daily life, and feel the rhythm of this lively city. And of course, no visit to Saigon would be complete without tasting some of the South's signature street food with our dedicated local tour guides.
Itinerary
1. A Relaxing Cyclo Ride Through the Heart of Saigon
Sit back, relax, and let your cyclo driver take you through the heart of Saigon. As you travel at a gentle pace, you'll pass some of the city's most iconic landmarks and get a feel for its unique blend of history, architecture, and modern urban life.
We'll stop outside the Independence Palace, a landmark closely connected to Vietnam's history, before continuing past the elegant Saigon Opera House and City Hall. From there, we'll make our way along Nguyen Hue Walking Street, where you can admire the lively atmosphere and see the statue of Ho Chi Minh.
The journey continues to the Saigon Central Post Office and Notre-Dame Cathedral, two of the city's best-known architectural landmarks. We'll also pass by Book Street, a charming little corner of the city where books, culture, and everyday life come together.
Throughout the ride, your tour guide will share stories and local insights to help you see Saigon beyond its busy streets and famous sights.
Please note: The landmarks listed above are visited from the outside unless otherwise specified.
2. A Taste of Local Life Through Street Food
After exploring the city by cyclo, it's time to slow down and discover Saigon on foot, one bite at a time.
Our first stop is an old apartment building, where you'll get a glimpse into how local residents live in the heart of the city. Behind its modest exterior, you may discover small eateries, everyday family life, and little details that reveal another side of Saigon.
Next, we'll head to Ho Thi Ky Flower Market, a lively local market known for its colorful flowers and vibrant food scene. Wander through the busy lanes, soak up the aromas and atmosphere, and sample some of the local dishes and street food that make Southern Vietnamese cuisine so distinctive.
Your guide will introduce you to the flavors and stories behind the food, helping you experience the city the way locals do.
After our street food adventure, we'll take a taxi back to District 1, bringing our Saigon experience to a relaxed close.
Meeting & Pick-up
Your tour guide and cyclo driver will meet you at your hotel.
Complimentary hotel pick-up is available for guests staying in District 1 or District 3. If your accommodation is outside these districts, we'll arrange a convenient meeting point with you in advance.
